Tag: WADI

In Alberta, a WAD1 diagnosis refers to a Whiplash-Associated Disorder, specifically a neck injury classified as a minor injury, where the patient experiences neck pain, stiffness, or tenderness without any physical signs of injury. These injuries typically occur due to sudden movements of the head and neck, often in Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA).  In its simplest terms, if you suffer an injury to your muscles or ligaments that can be described as a ‘sprain’ or a ‘strain’ you will likely be described as being a WAD 1 or WAD 2.  If you have numbness/tingling in your arms, hand, legs, or feet, then you should be described as having a WAD 3.  The following articles are written to help you in understanding Whiplash-Associated Disorder (WAD) and Alberta’s Minor Injury Regulation (MIR).  If you have been injured in a car accident in Edmonton, set up your free consultation with Moustarah & Company today.
